Tyra Banks reportedly is set to revisit one of her most iconic TV shows in a new Netflix project.
The former America’s Next Top Model host, 51, will appear in an upcoming Netflix docuseries about the hit reality competition series, per Entertainment Weekly. According to the outlet, Banks was interviewed for the multi-episode series, which does not yet have a premiere date on the streamer.
Additional participants will reportedly include other notable figures from ANTM’s history, per EW. The project, which has not officially been announced by Netflix, will take a look back at the biggest moments from the series’ 24-season-long run.
Banks has not publicly addressed her reported involvement in the upcoming docuseries. Us Weekly has reached out to her reps for comment.
Banks famously served as host of ANTM for all but one of its 24 seasons. The series saw aspiring models go head-to-head in a series of challenges in the hopes of being named — as the show’s title suggests — America’s Next Top Model.
While the show has produced many viral moments over the years — from Banks pretending to faint on camera to contestants’ emotional reactions to their makeovers and more — it has also faced backlash for its diversity and inclusion, controversial challenges and treatment of the show’s models.
Last year, cycle 9 (a.k.a. season 9) contestant Sarah Hartshorne alleged that “a girl fainted every week” on the show during a November 2024 episode of Vice’s Dark Side of Reality TV. “They warned us, they were like, ‘Don’t lock your knees!’ I was like, ‘These skinny bitches, they’re fainting!’ Then, 10 hours later I was like, ‘I’m fainting!’” she said, also attributing the cast’s lightheadedness to the pressure of staying thin and losing weight during filming.

Banks, herself, previously reacted to the show’s renewed criticism via X in May 2020, writing, “Been seeing the posts about the insensitivity of some past ANTM moments and I agree with you. Looking back, those were some really off choices. Appreciate your honest feedback and am sending so much love and virtual hugs.”
Back in February, Banks made a rare comment about her time on ANTM at the ESSENCE Black Women in Hollywood Awards, stating that she and the show’s crew “fought” and “struggled” to bring more diversity to the small screen.
“Did we get it right? Hell no. I said some dumb s***, but I refuse to have my legacy be about some stuff linked together on the Internet when there were 24 cycles of changing the world,” she said. “We all evolve. We all get better together. And I am so excited that I, and so many of us, have opened that door for others to follow.”
She concluded her speech on a lighthearted note, stating, “And now my 51-year-old, dimpled, cellulite-covered bigger tummy and 10 million times bigger titties is walking through that door that I opened with all of us behind us on that runway saying, ‘Baby, it’s just the beginning.’”
