Former Premier League employee Marc Canham is named as director of football with the FAI, who also announce that John Morling – former manager of the Ireland U-16s – had come on board as a football consultant (Morling would leave after just 10 months). It’s believed that Morling was on a three-person shortlist for the job with Canham and Pat Fenlon.
