Chants of “Peter! Peter! Peter!” rang around after an hour of a breathless interpro derby, as one of Munster’s favourite sons left the hallowed Thomond Park turf for what was almost certainly the last time.
As Peter O’Mahony made his way to the bench, he had already made a decisive impact on his side taking a big step towards securing a URC play-off spot, and more importantly, ensuring Champions Cup rugby next season.
