Joe Duffy to leave RTÉ after 37 years with the national broadcaster
Rumours of a shake-up had been circulating in the corridors of RTÉ in recent weeks. Before Joe Duffy’s bombshell announcement that he was retiring after 37 years, RTÉ’s director of audio Patricia Monahan had been quietly putting plans in place.
As part of a planning strategy, she had invited various members of radio staff to have a chat with her ahead of “scheduling changes”, the Irish Independent can reveal.
