Gabby Windey’s wife, Robby Hoffman, is opening up about their first disagreement.
Comedian Hoffman, 35, shared details of one of her unusual airplane habits on the Wednesday, May 7, episode of Netflix’s Everybody’s Live With John Mulaney, which she said prompted a midair clash with the former Bachelorette.
Asked how many times she’d been thrown off flights, Hoffman responded, “I haven’t but Gabby, when I initially was flying with her, we had our first fight because we had a lady who was sitting next to us on a long flight — I was middle, Gab got the window.”
“This lady was sleeping so peacefully, I had to pee so bad, but I didn’t want to wake her. It’s a long flight. I’m very flexible. I could stand on just the armrests,” Hoffman explained, proceeding to demonstrate how she hopped over the other passenger by climbing over both host John Mulaney and fellow guest Ramy Yousseff.
“Why should I wake somebody?” Hoffman reasoned.
However, according to Hoffman, Windey wasn’t impressed. “Gabby was like, ‘You can’t just walk over people,’” she recalled. “I said, ‘But I should wake them from a slumber? It’s so hard to fall asleep.’ It looks [a] little bizarre, but the heart behind it makes a lot of sense, I think.”
Fellow guest Andy Samberg chimed in on the conversation, commenting, “The risk obviously is that they wake up right when you’re standing over them.”
Hoffman responded, “They have, and then I explain, ‘But you were sleeping.’ And they’re still upset.”
Hoffman and Windey, 34, revealed they were dating in August 2023 and tied the knot in January. The couple broke the news of their marriage in March.
“I’m married. I’m not gonna cry,” Windey gushed on a March episode of her “Long Winded” podcast, before calling Hoffma the “single best thing” that’s happened to her.
“And you guys know and I know, and now we’re married,” she continued. “And I’m sorry to make you green with envy, but if it can happen to me [it can happen to you].”
Windey noted that she kept “putting on my ring and taking it off,” as she and Hoffman kept their wedding news a secret until March. “We got married two months ago and we kept it to ourselves for once. Can I keep one thing to myself for once? No, I can’t,” she stated. “I wish I could be more mysterious, but that blessing is not bestowed upon me ‘cause I have to tell you my every single thought to make a dime around here. All the air of mystery, ripped away.”
The couple broke news of their secret Las Vegas wedding in an interview with Cosmopolitan published in March. “We had just evacuated from the [Los Angeles] fires. Literally cue Rihanna, ‘We found love in a hopeless place,’” Windey told the outlet. “What better time to get married than right now? Because if the world is ending, we want to be with each other.”
