Paul O’Connell has revealed that he did not put himself forward to be part of Andy Farrell’s Lions backroom team for the upcoming series in Australia.
As the only one of Farrell’s Ireland assistants who will not travel with the Lions, O’Connell will instead lead Ireland as interim head coach on the summer tour to Georgia and Portugal.
