I sold sex for four years in my early 20s.One night, a man in his 30s smacked me across the face, pulled me around the room by my hair and attempted to rape me. It was brutal and I was terrified. I became mute and fawned and just about escaped.
If I had fought back in any sort of explicit way, I would have been raped for the second time in my life, and I couldn’t allow that to happen.
