A sunny evening in a house near Rathgar along the bank of the River Dodder. Bob, a Scottish terrier, is excitedly running around the back garden, into the kitchen, then scampering out into the garden again.
He jumps up on the lady of the house, Úna Crawford O’Brien, wanting to be taken out for a walk. When he realises that isn’t happening, Bob starts barking for food. Úna tells him he’s had his dinner already and to go back out to the garden.
