Bachelor Nation’s Ashley Iaconetti would be OK if Golden Bachelorette stars Joan Vassos and Chock Chapple didn’t actually get married.
“Joan and Chock reveal why their wedding planning is on hold for now,” Ben Higgins said during the Friday, May 2, episode of the “Almost Famous” podcast before Ashley, 37, chimed in.
“This is not that juicy,” she replied. “I also don’t think that they should, like, get married. I don’t know. You guys know how I feel about the Golden couples. I’m like, just be together for a long time. You’re not having children. You don’t need the certificate right now.”
Joan, 62, got engaged to Chock, 60, during the Golden Bachelorette season finale, which aired in November 2024. Ben and Ashley were referring to Chock recently explaining in an interview why he and Joan pressed pause on walking down the aisle.
“Her son’s getting married in the summer, and then another [son’s] probably going to get engaged, so we’re like, ‘Let’s just put [a wedding] on hold for now,” Chock told Parade last month. “She’s like, ‘I don’t want to compete with my son’s wedding and [we have] a lot going on.’”
According to Chock, both his and Joan’s schedules are “booked through October.” The couple are “crazy busy” this year, he noted.

Joan shared a similar sentiment during an exclusive interview with Us Weekly last month.
“I feel like I owe The Bachelor something because I want people to actually see that this was successful and that you can find love later in life and you can actually find love on a show,” she explained. “Lots of us do. There’s lots of very successful Bachelor couples out there. Just because they don’t all succeed doesn’t mean it’s not possible and that people aren’t there for the right reasons.”
Joan name-dropped former Bachelorette Charity Lawson and Dotun Olubeko — who also haven’t gotten married yet.
“They hear about it all the time,” Joan added. “We have the same [commentary].”
While they aren’t in a rush to plan their wedding, Joan assured Us that her relationship with Chock is strong.
“It’s been great every second of it and it’s, maybe, solidified our relationship more and more and made that leap of faith seem like we absolutely did the right thing,” she added.
Joan told Us, “We will get married, but we are not ready to plan a wedding out. I’m meeting his friends, he’s meeting my friends. We’re spending time getting to know each other even more. There’s no rush.”
