PRIMUS Recruits MAYNARD JAMES KEENAN For New Single “Little Lord Fentanyl”

Primus is back and they’re as weird as they’ve ever been. The band is now streaming their new single “Little Lord Fentanyl”, which has two very vital names attached to it – new drummer John Hoffman, who just joined the band and is making his recorded debut with this single; and vocalist Maynard James Keenan, who’s guesting on the track.

And I mean, what else is there to say about this? Primus has always erred on the side of strange and this track is no different. Though special shoutout to Hoffman – if there’s anyone out there that doubted he’s a good fit for the band, this is concrete proof he’s perfect. You can carry a lotta shit in that pocket.

Primus is having a busy 2025 with two massive tours – first with A Perfect Circle and Puscifer, and then with Ty Segall and MonoNeon. The latter makes stops at iconic venues like Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado, The Salt Shed in Chicago, The Rooftop at Pier 17 in New York, and The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, before culminating in a celebratory two-night stand at Channel 24 in Sacramento on August 7 and August 8.
