

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a woman in her 60s was seriously injured in an e-scrambler hit-and-run in Dublin.
Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a road traffic collision on Gardiner Street in Dublin 1 at 7.30pm on Thursday, May 1.
The collision involved a pedestrian and an electronic scrambler, and “the e-scrambler failed to remain at the scene”, according to gardaí.
“The road was closed for technical examination, and has since reopened,” a spokesperson from An Garda Síochána said.
“The female pedestrian (aged in her 60s) was conveyed to the Mater Misericordiae Hospital, and later transferred to Beaumont Hospital, for treatment of serious injuries.
“Investigations are ongoing. Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.
“Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) who were travelling in the area, yesterday evening, Thursday, May 1, 2025, between 6.45pm and 7.45pm, are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
