Virginia Giuffre’s tragic death at the age of 41 has raised some questions amongst some family members and the general public.
On April 25, Giuffre’s family confirmed the woman who accused Jeffrey Epstein and Prince Andrew of sexual abuse and sex trafficking had died by suicide in Australia.
“Giuffre lost her life to suicide, after being a lifelong victim of sexual abuse and sex trafficking,” her family said in a statement to People. “Virginia was a fierce warrior in the fight against sexual abuse and sex trafficking. She was the light that lifted so many survivors. Despite all the adversity she faced in her life, she shone so bright. She will be missed beyond measure.”
The family praised Giuffre as “heroic” and hoped she would be remembered “for her incredible courage and loving spirit.”
“In the end, the toll of abuse is so heavy that it became unbearable for Virginia to handle its weight,” the statement concluded. “We know that she is with the angels.”
Since Giuffre’s death was confirmed, some are curious to learn more about what led to her tragic passing.

What Did Virginia Giuffre’s Final Note Say Before Her Death?
Giuffre seemingly left a handwritten note, believed to be a message to sexual assault survivors, prior to her death.
“We are not going to go away,” the note, which was published by the Daily Mail on April 30, read. “Mothers, fathers, sisters and brothers need to show the battlelines are drawn and we stand together to fight for the future of victims.”
The note concluded, “Is protesting the answer — I don’t know, but we’ve got to start somewhere.”
Members of Giuffre’s family believe that the note was a message ahead of a rally set to be hosted in Washington D.C. on April 30 to bring awareness about sexual assault.

One month before her death, Giuffre said she was hit by a school bus traveling approximately 70 miles per hour. As a result, she claimed that doctors said she only has four days to live.
“This year has been the worst start to a new year,” she wrote via Instagram on March 30.
Giuffre also appeared to be in a custody battle with her estranged husband. The two shared three children aged 19, 16, and 15. Giuffre’s brother, Sky Roberts, claimed his family member struggled to see her kids regularly.
“It’s the worst pain in the world to not have access to your children,” Roberts previously told People on April 3. “Can you imagine the pain? I will tell you, all the physical [pain] will never amount to the pain of being separated from your children in that way.”
Will Prince Andrew Acknowledge Virginia Giuffre’s Death?
In an interview with Piers Morgan, Giuffre’s former lawyer David Boies said he hopes Prince Andrew eventually makes a statement in regard to Giuffre’s death.
“I think that he needs to take responsibility for what he did,” Boies shared on the April 28, episode of Piers Morgan Uncensored. “Virginia was always more interested in fighting the sin than attacking the sinner, and I think that she would have accepted Prince Andrew taking responsibility and would have recognized that. I think that it’s not too late. It’s never too late.”
During the interview, Boies shared the two words he hopes to hear from Prince Andrew.
“I’d like to have him say, ‘I’m sorry,’” he explained. “I’d like him to be more direct about that.” (Us Weekly reached out to Prince Andrew’s attorney for comment after the interview.)
What Did Virginia Giuffre Accuse Prince Andrew Of?

Prince Andrew and Virginia Giuffre Mega Agency
Giuffre made headlines in 2015 when her allegations against Prince Andrew emerged in Epstein court documents.
According to Giuffre, Prince Andrew sexually assaulted her at Epstein’s New York home in 2011. Prince Andrew also allegedly sexually assaulted Giuffre at an “orgy” that took place on Epstein’s private Caribbean island that same year, she claimed. (Prince Andrew denied sexual assault occurred during these events.) Giuffre was 17 at the time that the events allegedly took place.
What Did Prince Andrew Say at the Time About Virginia’s Claims?
He denied any wrongdoing and said in a now notorious November 2019 interview with the BBC that he had no memory of meeting Giuffre, despite there being a picture of the pair together when Giuffre was underage. (Epstein died by suicide in August 2019 while in a New York City jail awaiting trial on child sex trafficking charges.)
Nearly three years later, Giuffre and Prince Andrew settled a lawsuit out of court for an undisclosed amount of money.
“Prince Andrew intends to make a substantial donation to Ms. Giuffre’s charity in support of victims’ rights,” the letter read. “Prince Andrew has never intended to malign Ms. Giuffre’s character, and he accepts that she has suffered both as an established victim of abuse and as a result of unfair public attacks.”
“Prince Andrew regrets his association with Epstein, and commends the bravery of Ms. Giuffre and other survivors in standing up for themselves and others,” the letter continued. “He pledges to demonstrate his regret for his association with Epstein by supporting the fight against the evils of sex trafficking, and by supporting its victims.”
Will Virginia Giuffre’s Death Be Investigated?
Giuffre’s dad, also named Sky Roberts, has called for an investigation into her passing, according to TMZ. The grieving parent cited past social media posts from Giuffre where she stated she had no suicidal ideation.
“For them to say that she committed suicide, there’s no way that she did,” Roberts said during a May 1 appearance on Piers Morgan Uncensored. “Somebody got to her.”
Giuffre’s lawyer, Karrie Louden, has also called for an investigation into her death.
Louden told The Sun on April 28 that there were “big question marks” surrounding her client’s passing.
