The scene inside No 3 Grattan Street was one of disarray. Beyond the front door, amid the filth and dirt, there was dog faeces on the floor and unwashed dishes in the kitchen sink.
Valentine, Tina Satchwell’s pet parrot, was in a birdcage that looked as if it hadn’t been cleaned in a while.
