Gerry Adams arrives at High Court in Dublin for BBC defamation case
A jury of seven men and five women has been sworn to hear the defamation action taken by former Sinn Féin leader Gerry Adams against the BBC over a claim he sanctioned the murder of a former party official Denis Donaldson.
Mr Adams (76) is suing over the allegation, which was broadcast in a Spotlight programme in 2016, and a subsequent article on the BBC’s website in which it was repeated.
