Incoming “housing tsar” Brendan McDonagh will retain his salary in the region of €430,000 — plus benefits — when he takes up his role leading the new Housing Activation Office next month, the Sunday Independent can reveal.
Housing Minister James Browne will also be seeking a billion-euro war chest from Finance Minister Paschal Donohoe to tackle the housing crisis over the next five years, on top of existing budgets.
