Businessman Denis O’Brien has received €5.8m from the State Claims Agency for his legal costs in relation to the Moriarty Tribunal dating back as far as 2001.
The payment is understood to be the largest of its kind ever to a tribunal witness, and is a full and final settlement of his costs application, following an order by the tribunal in March 2021.
