As the nine days of mourning for Pope Francis continue at the Vatican, tributes continue to pour in, including from an Irish theologian who helped shape the late pontiff’s landmark encyclical Laudato Si’ on care for the environment.
Fr Sean McDonagh, a Columban missionary based in Dalgan Park, Co Meath, is an environmental campaigner. He believes Francis’s leadership marked “a profound turning point” in how the Catholic Church engages with the natural world.
