Cassie revealed how her now-husband, Alex Fine, initially found out that she had been allegedly raped by Sean “Diddy” Combs in 2018.
During Cassie’s Friday, May 16, testimony, defense attorneys asked whether Fine, now 32, was aware that she had sex with Diddy, now 55, in September 2018. Cassie, who was dating Fine at the time, claimed that one of her two encounters with Diddy that month wasn’t consensual. Diddy denied the rape claims.
Cassie (real name Casandra Ventura), 38, revealed on the witness stand that when she informed Fine about the alleged rape, he punched a wall.
She also revealed that she and Diddy had consensual sex another time that month.
“We’d been together 10 years,” she said on the witness stand. “You just don’t turn feelings off that way.”
Fine has been present in the courtroom for the duration of Cassie’s testimony this week. He left the room before Cassie, who is currently pregnant with their third baby, discussed the alleged assault. The defense previously indicated that he might be called as a witness later during the trial so he couldn’t be present for her testimony about the alleged rape.
Cassie and Diddy dated on and off from 2007 to 2018 before she moved on with Fine. Five years later, the “Me & U” singer named Diddy in a November 2023 lawsuit, accusing him of repeated physical abuse and sexual assault for a decade. Diddy denied that allegations and they settled the case out of court within a day.
On Friday, Cassie testified that the last time she saw Diddy before the trial was at a memorial service for his late ex, Kim Porter, in November 2018. (Diddy, who shared four kids with Porter, started seeing Cassie when they broke up.)
Diddy was indicted by a grand jury and arrested in September 2024 on charges of sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy and transportation to engage in prostitution. He has denied all allegations and pleaded not guilty.
“We are disappointed with the decision to pursue what we believe is an unjust prosecution of Mr. Combs by the U.S. Attorney’s Office,” Diddy’s lawyer Marc Agnifilo told Us Weekly in a statement at the time. “Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is a music icon, self-made entrepreneur, loving family man and proven philanthropist who has spent the last 30 years building an empire, adoring his children and working to uplift the Black community. He is an imperfect person, but he is not a criminal.”
