Salma Hayek Models Leather Dress for ‘Jimmy Fallon,’ Talks Sports Illustrated

Salma Hayek Pinault made an appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on Wednesday in New York City. The Oscar-nominated “Frida” actress chatted with the eponymous host about her cover for Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit issue, on newsstands May 17.

For her late-night talk show appearance, Hayek Pinault opted for a sleek leather dress with gold hardware detailing. The cocktail dress featured a hemline below the knee and was crafted in a dark chocolate brown tone.

The dress featured a plunging V-neckline and cinched waist for a defined silhouette with hints of sensual styling. Hayek Pinault completed her look with a pair of platform stilettos. As for her accessories, the actress kept her look minimal, favoring a few dazzling rings.

Hayek Pinault spoke with Fallon about her surprise when she found out she was tapped to be a cover star for Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit edition, photographed by Ruven Afanador. “I thought I was being punked,” she said. “It was so surreal.” Part of Hayek Pinault’s surprise came from the chapter she’s in in her life. “I’m 58!” Hayek Pinault said.

“When I was 20, I would look at this [and say], ‘Oh my god, they’re so beautiful,’” Hayek Pinault continued, referencing the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition cover. “I knew that my body type was not what they were looking for,” she said.

“I never even thought that one day I would be in it, not even when I was young. And here we are, girls.” Hayek Pinault joins 38 women from a range of talents and backgrounds as cover stars for the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue.
