Morrisons has made a major change to its loyalty card offering and some shoppers aren’t too happy about it.
The grocery giant revealed this week that its popular Fish Friday and Steak Saturday promotions will no longer be available, meaning More Card customers won’t be able to access the 20% off fish and steak on the dedicated days.
Fortunately, it’s not all bad news as the supermarket chain has seemingly taken with one hand and given with the other to make sure shoppers are still able to access some money-saving deals.
According to the retailer, shoppers could be better off as the departure of dedicated saving days has been swapped for week-long deals.

A Morrisons spokesperson said: ‘Our Fish Friday and Steak Saturday offers were really popular with our customers, however from listening to their feedback, they wanted value all week long.
‘Due to this, we have expanded our offers across steak and fish by including 125 lines within our 3 for £10 offer.’
This means shoppers will have more flexibility and choice when shopping – and even more so, there will be plenty of other deals on offer in addition to the 3 for £10 throughout the month.
One of which includes saving a third off the price of Market Street Silverside Joint between Monday, May 12 and Sunday, May 18.

Unfortunately, some shoppers aren’t pleased with the change which came as a bit of a surprise to them.
John Porteous wrote on Facebook: ‘You have finished with 20% off the fish Friday and steak Saturday, not happy.’
He added that he is ‘most annoyed’ about the removal of member card deals, as he replied to Robert Tatton, who called out Morrisons for making the change so ‘quietly’.
Penny Barlow asked where the weekly promotion had gone, with another user pointing out it had seemingly ‘vanished’.
And Alison Slevin also weighed in, writing on Facebook: ‘Morrisons bring back Steak Saturdays much better deal!!’
However, some were thrilled with the new 3 for £10 offerings, including True Dream, who wrote on the Facebook page: ‘That’s a fantastic deal and perfect for a barbecue!’
‘Great prices!’ added Dharmeshta Mistry.
The loyalty card changes come just one month after the supermarket chain closed 16 stores as part of a major shake up, with another branch in Yorkshire closing its doors yesterday.
The cuts aren’t over yet, and there are plans to shut all 52 of the Morrisons in-store cafés, as well as 18 market kitchens, 70 meat and fish counters,13 florists and four pharmacies.
Morrison’s CEO Rami Baitiéh, said changes were needed to ‘renew and reinvigorate’ the chain, because running services were costing more than what was being made from customer spending.
