Drake Rodger met his girlfriend, Meg Donnelly, on set of The Winchesters — but would he work alongside his partner again?
“I would love to see my girlfriend Meg Donnelly anytime, anywhere, on any show and in any role,” Rodger, 26, exclusively told Us Weekly while attending the Los Angeles premiere of Motorheads on Tuesday, May 13. “But primarily a role where I get to hang out with her.”
The Prime Video show, which premieres on May 20, could be the perfect next project for the couple. According to Rodger, he had a blast playing Ray on the coming-of-age series — despite the character being at odds with almost everyone.
“It’s very therapeutic and very far from who I am in real life. At least I hope [it is],” Rodger joked to Us. “But it was very therapeutic because you get to take bigger swings. I feel like as an actor — when you’re playing the bad guy — you don’t have to be so likable.”
Rodger found freedom as an actor with the chance to make “a lot of different choices” on Motorheads, adding, “Ray just can’t do anything right [for those in his life]. He wants the love and admiration of his dad and his brother but no matter what he does, he will never get it.”
He continued: “Ray just wants to be liked. But everybody around him thinks he is this thing and if enough people say you are this thing then in his mind it’s like, ‘Oh, I might as well just be that if I’m never going to be able to change your mind.’”

Motorheads “follows a group of outsiders in a once-thriving Rust Belt town form an unlikely friendship over a mutual love of automobiles.” In addition to Rodger, the series stars Ryan Phillippe, Michael Cimino, Melissa Collazo, Uriah Shelton, Nicolas Cantu, Johnna Dias-Watson, Josh Macqueen, Mia Healey, Nathalie Kelley and Matt Lanter.
The upcoming series will come as a fun surprise for fans who enjoyed Rodger’s performance as John Winchester in The CW’s short-lived spinoff to Supernatural titled The Winchesters. Set in an alternate universe, The Winchesters followed John and Mary Campbell’s (Donnelly) relationship before they expanded their family with sons Dean (played by Jensen Ackles in Supernatural) and Sam (played by Jared Padalecki in Supernatural).
Rodger and Donnelly, 24, sparked romance rumors while filming The Winchesters, but it wasn’t until February 2024 that they confirmed their relationship. They have since offered glimpses into their romance via social media while focusing on their individual projects.
While Donnelly just wrapped up The Masked Singer, she is preparing for the release of the newest Zombies movie on Disney. Rodger, meanwhile, scored a role on Taylor Sheridan‘s Landman, the Prison Break reboot and now Motorheads.
“Motorheads felt immediately so nostalgic and it feels like it pays homage to all of the shows that I grew up watching,” Rodger explained to Us earlier this month during the show’s press junket. “Like Friday Night Lights, The O.C., One Tree Hill and maybe not as much The Vampire Diaries [but] we have the [love] triangle going.”
Motorheads premieres on Prime Video May 20.
