Three cyclists have been injured after being struck by a car which failed to remain at the scene in east Co Cork this evening.
Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene in Midleton shortly after 8pm following a collision involving a car and three bicycles.
The car failed to remain at the scene of the incident, which occurred at around 8.05pm on the R627 near Westpark.

The three cyclists are receiving medical assessment for injuries believed to be non-life-threatening at this time, a garda spokesperson confirmed.
“The road is currently closed with local diversions in place. Investigations are ongoing,” they added.
