Cassie‘s husband, Alex Fine, has been by her side in the courtroom as she testifies against ex-boyfriend Sean “Diddy” Combs.
According to The New York Times, Cassie (full name Casandra Ventura) “never seems to look at” Diddy, 55, while recalling disturbing details about their relationship. Fine, 32, meanwhile, “occasionally turns to look at Combs across the aisle before turning back” to his wife on the stand.
Diddy has been sitting with “his hands clasped on his lap, occasionally writing notes” to his legal team. He “briefly rubbed his eyes and shook his head once” when photos of Cassie’s bruises were shown on the screen. The “uneasy” dynamic has been on display for the jurors who “have maintained their best poker faces” while looking at visuals pertaining to the alleged freak offs.
Cassie, 38, began her testimony on Tuesday, May 13, detailing horrific claims from the freak offs — including allegations that Diddy and escorts urinated in her mouth — and recalling alleged incidents of physical abuse. Cassie, who dated Diddy from 2007 to 2018, previously sued him in November 2023 for sexual assault and physical abuse. Diddy denied all allegations, and the pair settled that case out of court one day later.

After Cassie’s lawsuit, many other people came forward with similar misconduct accusations against Diddy. The disgraced rapper, who continues to deny all allegations against him, is currently on trial after being arrested in September 2024 on charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion and transportation to engage in prostitution. Diddy pleaded not guilty and currently faces up to life in prison if convicted.
Diddy’s indictment claimed he abused, threatened and coerced women and others around him to fulfill his sexual desires, protect his reputation and conceal his conduct.”
“Combs relied on the employees, resources and influence of the multifaceted business empire that he led and controlled — creating a criminal enterprise whose members and associates engaged in, and attempted to engage in, among other crimes, sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery and obstruction of justice,” the indictment continued of the accusations, some of which date back to 2009.
Diddy’s attorney Marc Agnifilo denied the accusations in a statement.
“We are disappointed with the decision to pursue what we believe is an unjust prosecution of Mr. Combs by the U.S. Attorney’s Office,” Agnifilo told Us Weekly after the arrest. “Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is a music icon, self-made entrepreneur, loving family man and proven philanthropist who has spent the last 30 years building an empire, adoring his children and working to uplift the Black community.”
Agnifilo added: “He is an imperfect person, but he is not a criminal. To his credit, Mr. Combs has been nothing but cooperative with this investigation and he voluntarily relocated to New York last week in anticipation of these charges. Please reserve your judgment until you have all the facts. These are the acts of an innocent man with nothing to hide, and he looks forward to clearing his name in court.”
Cassie, who is currently expecting her third baby with Fine, was asked on Wednesday, May 14, about video footage from 2016 that was released in 2024 and showed Diddy assaulting her.

“I didn’t get hit. I remember it hitting the wall,” she told Assistant U.S. Attorney Emily Johnson, recalling a moment Diddy allegedly threw a vase of flowers at her. “He was yelling at me and threw it at me.”
After the assault, Cassie claimed Diddy tried to contact her, but she texted him, “Please stay far away from me.” When asked by Johnson whether she wanted to “protect” Diddy by not initially coming forward about the abuse, Cassie replied, “Yeah, of course.”
