Sybreed recently embarked on a pretty extensive reissue campaign that found all their old records back in circulation with some bonus tracks. Now that that’s all out in the world, Sybreed has announced the thing everyone wants to hear – new music!
Sybreed stated they’re currently working on demos of their first new music since God Is an Automaton in 2012, but notes that they’re not planning on playing live anytime soon. Which s fine – the fact that Sybreed is even back at all is phenomenal. For those unaware, Sybreed originally went on hiatus in October 2013 after vocalist Benjamin Nominet left the band for professional and personal reasons. Sybreed broke up in July 2014.
“Thank you all for the amazing support! The fact that you’re still with us after all these years seriously means the world. The Orange Splatter vinyl sold out in just 7 hours (!!!), and the Slave Vintage Design shirts flew off the shelves too as only size S left!
“Now, about the big question: a Sybreed reunion. To be clear: a full reunion with live shows isn’t something we’re able to do right now, and likely won’t be in the near future. That said, there is some good news: we’ve started writing new demos, and yes, new singles will be coming your way eventually. As you know, we never want to rush things, so thank you for your patience. One thing we can say is that some of the new tracks we’re working on are pure, classic Sybreed. It feels great to dive back into that world.”
