Heidi Montag knows some people had their doubts about her relationship with Spencer Pratt.
But nearly 15 years after the series finale of The Hills, the “Body Language” singer, 38, couldn’t be more proud of the marriage she built and maintains with her husband.
“Marriage for anyone is a journey, and that is what life has,” Montag exclusively shared with Us Weekly while celebrating Ryde:’s “Wellbeing Made Easier” campaign. “For Spencer and I, we’ve always been such a team. The hardships in life bring us closer together. The great times in life bring us closer together. … We will always thrive through it, and we have always had that love.”
While Montag acknowledges that fans may have some misconceptions about the pair since they starred on MTV’s hit reality show, she reminds viewers that it was only a portion of their love story.
“I understand why people didn’t get our relationship. I mean, we pretended to have a bad one for money back in the day,” she said with a laugh. “We’ve been together for 16 [years] or however many more off camera. People have been able to see the true relationship and love and evolution of our lives and our children and the time that we’ve been blessed to spend together.”

Montag and Pratt, 41, rose to fame when they appeared on The Hills from 2007 to 2010. The couple tied the knot in 2008 and had their wedding filmed for the show. The pair are now parents to sons Gunner, 6, and Ryker, 2.
Although the couple still appear on various reality shows — Pratt recently starred in Hulu’s Got to Get Out — Montag finds herself focused on her music career.
Her 2010 album Superficial hit No. 1 on iTunes earlier this year after she lost her family’s home due to the Palisades Fire.
While plenty of new fans continue discovering Montag’s music for the first time, Pratt has been the singer’s biggest supporter since day one.

Heidi Montag Ryde: Wellbeing Shots
“He has done a lot of work to have this moment transcend for both of us and for me, and he has always been so amazing about being behind the scenes, and that’s where he thrives as well,” Montag told Us. “He just has no ego attached to it, and he really wants me to shine and have this moment that he feels like I have deserved and he’s so excited to see.”
When she’s not recording new music or performing at the hottest parties like Kourtney Kardashian’s Camp Poosh event at Coachella, Montag is trying to stay energized with help from Ryde:.
While participating in their “Wellbeing Made Easier” campaign, Montag hopes to remind moms that wellbeing products don’t need to be hard or impossible to obtain. Instead, Ryde: makes it easy.
“I just think as an adult, as a parent on the go, you need that fix, and that’s what I love about Ryde: so much,” she told Us. “It’s effortless. It helps with your well being. It helps with energy. It helps with sleep, all different types of things.”
