Health Minister Jennifer Carroll MacNeill says that she has no timeline for when a finalised independent report into hip and spinal surgeries at Irish children’s hospitals will be available.
A damning report published last month found that unauthorised implants, made of materials that could corrode, were fitted in children during spinal treatments for scoliosis against a backdrop of poor governance, oversight and safety measures within Children’s Health Ireland (CHI).
