Stephen Cluxton’s kick-outs were gobbled up by Meath in their Leinster SFC semi-final
1. The new football rules have helped clean up the game, but what could be done to stop the player rows like what happened between Armagh and Donegal after the final whistle?
Colm Keys: Hard to see what can be done in these situations. The end of tight, tense games like this can be a tinderbox, especially if there’s a trigger like a celebration that goads the vanquished. That said, the reaction was way over the top and, given what could have happened if it wasn’t for the respective managers and others intervening, punishment should be significant.
