Ant Anstead‘s Radford Motors company appears to be struggling financially.
The supercar company filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy following a court hearing on Thursday, May 8, Us Weekly can confirm. (People was first to report the news.)
According to court documents obtained by Us, Radford Motors filed a voluntary petition for relief under Chapter 11 of the bankruptcy code in October 2024. The move was made “in order to continue its business, obtain a cash infusion and complete the vehicles on order.”
During the case, Radford Motors has “operated at a loss on a cash basis,” per court documents.

In their newest filing, the debtors determined that Chapter 11 is not the best course of action for the company. Instead, converting the case to Chapter 7 “is in the best interest of its estate and creditors.”
According to the United States Courts, Chapter 7 bankruptcy can include the “liquidation” of a company or the sale of a debtor’s nonexempt property and the distribution of the proceeds to creditors.
Us has reached out to Radford Motors for comment on the filing.
Back in 2020, Anstead joined Formula 1 champion Jenson Button in creating Radford Motors.

“Radford specializes in the creation of bespoke, luxury vehicles,” Button wrote on the company’s website. “Known for our craftsmanship, attention to detail and use of premium materials to create unique and exclusive vehicles, we are dedicated to delivering the highest level of customer satisfaction by delivering vehicles that reflect the unique personality and style of each individual client.”
In recent months, however, Radford Motors has reportedly faced lawsuits and claims of not being able to deliver cars people have requested.
“Any and all claims will be addressed as part of the bankruptcy case,” Radford said in a statement to People in October 2024 after the company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
That same month, Anstead reiterated his commitment to Radford’s customers despite the company’s “challenges.”
“Radford is implementing strategic organizational enhancements while maintaining full operational continuity,” he said in a statement to People. “I remain fully committed to advancing Radford’s vision and growth. My role and dedication to Radford’s success continue unchanged.”

Before launching Radford Motors, Anstead — who is dating Renée Zellweger — started his own TV production company in 2014 and produced his own show called The World’s Most Expensive Cars.
Most recently, he starred in the 2024 U.K. series Ant Anstead: Born Mechanic, which followed his journey of rebuilding a historic home with funds he made by selling classic cars he restored.
