There was a time when his paintings sold before they even reached the walls of a gallery, and he counts Tom Cruise among the owners of his work. But artist Mark Kavanagh — better known as ‘Rasher’ — has revealed he almost quit the art world after burnout and exhaustion, following a frenzy for buying his art during the Celtic Tiger years.
Speaking to the Sunday Independent ahead of his first exhibition in six years, the Wicklow artist (48) gave an insight into the “grind” that comes with being an artist.
