Miley Cyrus has finally addressed where she stands with her parents, exes Tish and Billy Ray Cyrus, amid ongoing feud speculation.
“I rarely comment on rumors, but my mama and I are too tight for anything to ever come between us,” Miley, 32, wrote in a Saturday, May 10, Instagram Story statement, days after Tish, 57, was accused of allegedly unfollowing her on social media. “She’s my best friend. Like a lot of moms, she doesn’t know how to work her phone and somehow unfollowed me — simple, coincidental and uninteresting.”
Miley also revealed where she stood with Billy Ray, 63, hours after he posted a pic of the father-daughter duo alongside his son Braison, 30, and Miley’s boyfriend, Maxx Morando.
“My dad and I have had our challenges over the years,” Miley added on Saturday. “Now, in my 30s, family is my priority above all else. I’m at peace knowing bridges have been built and time has done a lot of healing.”
She concluded, “Grateful for the good health and love that flows through my family.”
Tish and Billy Ray got married in 1993, shortly before the “Achy Breaky Heart” singer adopted Tish’s children from a previous relationship: Brandi, 37, and Trace, 36. They later welcomed Miley, Braison and Noah, 25, before divorcing in 2022.
After Tish and Billy Ray’s divorce, speculation swirled of a falling-out between the country icon and Miley. He even claimed that their joint Disney Channel series, Hannah Montana, “destroyed” their family.
“I’d take it back in a second. For my family to be here and just everybody be OK, safe and sound and happy and normal would have been fantastic,” Billy Ray told GQ in 2011. “Heck, yeah. I’d erase it all in a second if I could.”
Miley never addressed her dad’s comments, though further rumors swirled that she stopped following him on Instagram or intentionally omitted him from her 2024 Grammys acceptance speech.

Their family dynamic reportedly fractured further after Tish married Dominic Purcell in 2023. Us broke the news in March 2024 that Noah was romantically involved with Purcell, 55, for several months before Tish started pursuing the Prison Break star herself. Neither Tish, Noah nor Purcell ever addressed the alleged situation.
When Tish and Purcell got married, they tied the knot at Miley’s Malibu home. Only Miley, Brandi, Trace and Purcell’s daughters from a past relationship were in attendance.
Noah and Tish have since mended fences.
“Noah and Tish are working on rebuilding their relationship,” a source told Us exclusively in August 2024. “It’s been a slow burn and has been very up and down the last several months, but Noah has been more open to the idea of having Tish in her life again.”
