Kelsey Anderson and Joey Graziadei are one of Bachelor Nation‘s favorite success stories — but they’re in no rush to walk down the aisle.
In an interview with SI Swimsuit published Wednesday, May 7, Kelsey, 26, revealed that the couple have pressed pause on their wedding plans for another year. While they initially eyed a spring 2026 date, the pair now have their sights set on tying the knot in 2027.
“We really don’t want to be stressed. We don’t want to just throw things together,” Kelsey explained of their decision to delay their wedding date.
Kelsey added that she hopes the ceremony and reception are a reflection of both her and Joey, 29. “I definitely want our wedding to be pretty timeless,” she shared. “I want it to be able, in 30 or 40 years, to look like it could be done then.”
Her fiancé might even have a vision of his own. “I know a lot of times the guys kind of let the lady take over, but I don’t know [about that with Joey],” she said.
Fans met Joey when he was cast as one of Charity Lawson‘s suitors on season 20 of The Bachelorette. After ending the season as runner-up behind Dotun Olubeko, Joey was chosen to be the season 28 Bachelor. He proposed to Kelsey during the March 2024 finale. Joey’s reality TV journey continued on season 33 of Dancing With the Stars, with Kelsey cheering him on until he took home the coveted mirrorball trophy with pro partner Jenna Johnson.

“I always knew that Joey was a sweet, kind man,” Kelsey gushed of how the couple’s relationship has continued to grow off camera. “But I feel like his goofiness has really come out more post-show and the more that we get to know each other.”
Last month, Joey shared more insight into why the pair have taken their time getting to their wedding day. “Our thought process has always been, we wanted to enjoy the engagement,” he said on “Cozy in the Closet” with Maks Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd. “We didn’t want to rush anything because as you know The Bachelor is a very, very quick timeline and we’re gonna have a two to three-year engagement to make sure that we are seeing everything through and learning as much about each other before we take that next step.”
At the time, Joey hinted that he and Kelsey were “starting to kind of nail down when we want to, you know, figure out a date [and] where we actually want to have our wedding,” along with other big-picture goals, including starting a family. “We both said that we wanted to at least enjoy marriage a little bit before we have kids,” he added.
While there’s still plenty of time until their big day, Kelsey already has an idea of how she wants to give her late mother, Denise, a presence at the wedding. (Denise died in 2018 after battling breast cancer.)
“I think that maybe I would take, like, a piece of some type of clothing of hers that meant a lot and somehow incorporate it into something in our wedding,” she said on the “Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast in February. “I definitely want a piece of my mom in our wedding and I think that I’m a very sentimental person, so there’s a lot of ideas that I have [to incorporate] the people that went with us presently.”
The couple are also on the same page when it comes to making their wedding day “a big party,” with Kelsey adding, “After we say our vows we just want to have a big celebration. We want everyone on the dance floor [and], so I’m gonna find the perfect band, perfect DJ, whatever we choose. … I don’t think I want everything to be super traditional. I want it to just form to [what] we feel is right for us.”
