So I’ve been workshopping this little theory of mine for some time now. It all began when a woman in one of my group chats made the point that nobody ever tells you how boring parenthood can be. I could only agree. The powers that be keep this fact pretty quiet when they’re doing the whole hard sell on making babies.
“Have a baby,” they say. “It’ll be the most life-affirming, joyful, important, rewarding thing you’ll ever do.” They secrete all the stuff about how hard it is and how unsupported families are in this Late Stage Capitalist S**temare to the fine print.
