A Mississippi man is facing charges of felony stalking and felony vandalism after allegedly crashing through the gate of Jennifer Aniston’s Bel-Air home on Monday, May 5.
Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman announced the charges against 48-year-old Jimmy Wayne Carwyle, from New Albany, Mississippi, on Wednesday, May 7.
“Stalking is a crime that can quickly escalate from harassment to dangerous, violent actions, threatening the safety of victims and our communities. My office is committed to aggressively prosecuting those who stalk and terrorize others, ensuring they are held accountable,” Hochman said in a statement.
Carwyle is accused of “repeatedly harassing the victim, Jennifer A., sending her unwanted social media, voicemail, and email messages” over two years between March 2023 and May 2025, per a press release from the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
Los Angeles Police Department officer Jeff Lee previously told CNN a white male “ran his vehicle through the gates to the residence” at 12:20 p.m. on Monday while the owner was at home.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office noted that the suspect caused “substantial damage” to the property. He was arrested by a security guard before being taken into police custody.
If convicted, Carwyle faces three years in state prison.

Aniston bought her 10,186-square-foot mid-century modern Bel-Air mansion for just under $21 million in 2012, before lovingly renovating it over the years along with her ex Justin Theroux. The property is secluded behind high walls and hedges, with privacy and security naturally being priorities for the A-list actress. Bel Air is a luxurious neighborhood, with Meg Ryan living close by, too.
“Aesthetically, it was the furthest thing from what I wanted, but I immediately had the sense that it could work,” the Friends star told Architectural Digest in 2018. “It’s hard to describe, but I felt a connection. I’m all about cozy. Sexy is important, but comfort is essential. Every corner you turn, you have an experience. Everywhere you look, you get a vista. We worked very hard to get that flow right.”
Aniston and Theroux got married at the mansion in August 2015, opening up their sanctuary to 70 of their loved ones, including maid of honor Courteney Cox and close friend Jimmy Kimmel, who officiated. The couple lived there together until their 2018 split.
Since their divorce, Aniston has continued to live alone — well, with her beloved rescue dogs — on the 3.4-acre estate which boasts sweeping ocean and city views, a guesthouse, swimming pool and vineyards. The main house has seven bedrooms and 11 bathrooms, along with a well-used home gym.
