Olivia Benson and ADA Sonny Carisi are teaming up once again on Law and Order: Special Victims Unit.
The crime-fighting duo question the unaware Gordon (Christian Campbell) and Natalie Dewinn (Kate MacCluggage) — the parents of two victims who were held at gunpoint — in Us Weekly’s exclusive clip from the Thursday, May 8, episode.
“Wow, this is … something,” Benson (Mariska Hargitay) says as she and Carisi (Peter Scanavino) are escorted through what passes for a mansion in NYC. Carisi sarcastically replies, “Just like the place I grew up in.”
When they arrive, Gordon and Natalie seem confused about any issues regarding their children, Atlas (Tristan Spohn) and Josie (Ava Jean).
“This is an ongoing investigation,” Benson tells them, as Atlas walks into the room. Natalie sends her son to his room for the couple to have a “private” conversation with Benson and Carisi, who share a pointed look.
Thursday’s episode, titled “Aperture,” follows the aftermath of Josie’s assault at gunpoint, which is witnessed through a neighboring window.
Us’ exclusive clip shows Benson and Carisi detailing Josie’s assault to her parents as they attempt to identify the assailant.

“You mean my children had a gun pointed at them yesterday?” Natalie asks. Benson replies, “I’m assuming, from your response, that they didn’t tell you.”
The parents tell Carisi there weren’t any changes with their children’s behavior the day before, despite the assault that took place.
“Have you been contacted by anyone?” Carisi asks. “Got any kind of ransom?”
Benson adds, “Did somebody tell you not to speak with the police?”
Josie “went for a walk” while Benson and Carisi were at the apartment, which leads them to look for her. Benson attempts to diffuse the situation, with Carisi sharing the family’s next steps.
“The first thing we need to do is talk to Atlas,” he says, with Benson adding that two detectives had “already” spoken with Josie since she is over 18.
“We have to respect her privacy,” Benson says. “Right now, what would be most helpful is if you and Atlas came with us down to the station.”
NBC’s official logline for the episode teases that a “threat to extort the victim’s family leads to a shocking suspect,” hinting at more drama to come.
SVU fans love a Benson and Carisi collab — and they’re not the only ones. Scanavino gushed over his longtime friendship with Hargitay during an exclusive interview with Us earlier this year.
“I think my relationship with Mariska really mirrors their relationship,” he told Us. “When I came on the show, I always respected her. I looked up to her as an actor and even as a friend. I think Carisi did as well, as a detective.”
Law and Order: SVU airs on NBC Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET.
