A Co Tipperary priest who knew Cardinal Robert Prevost from their time studying in Rome has said the new Pope “seems to have done a little better” than him.
Father Iggy O’Donovan and the man who has today been elected Pope Leo XIV studied in Rome at the same time and were ordained within a year of each other in the 1980s.
