Byzantine is back to remind everyone why they’re one of the best damn American metal bands around, thanks to their latest single “The Unobtainable Sleep”.
“This song title is a dark and poetic definition of death,” said Byzantine guitarist Brian Henderson. “OJ had a few riffs laying around that were inspired by Extol, Carcass, and Fear Factory, and they fit perfectly together to craft this tune. We specifically wrote an extended solo section to allow our friend from Russia, Andrey Gadzhibalaev, a chance to perform a beautiful guest guitar solo.”
Harbingers was produced by Peter Wichers (Soilwork, All That Remains, Nevermore) and features artwork by mixed-media artist Ashley Hoey that depicts Irene of Athens – the mother of Emperor Constantine and the first female empress of the Byzantine Empire.
Byzantine in 2025 is Ojeda, guitarists Brian Henderson and Tony Rohrbough, bassist Ryan Poslethwait, and drummer Matt Bowles. Pre-orders for Harbingers are available here.
