A lawyer for the BBC has accused Gerry Adams of repeatedly “seeking to deflect” questions he is “uncomfortable with” in relation to the Troubles and his alleged membership of the Provisional IRA.
Paul Gallagher SC said that unlike a “normal witness” who answers the questions they are asked, the former Sinn Féin leader would shift the focus on to other matters he was interested in instead.
