Beauty influencer Valéria Pantoja has reportedly died at age 30 while recovering from weight loss surgery.
“It is with great sadness that we inform you of the death of Valéria Pantoja,” read an English translation of the Portuguese message shared via Instagram, per People. “She was a beloved person and leaves memories that will comfort our hearts. May God give strength and comfort to family and friends at this difficult time.”
The family also reportedly thanked her more than 12,000 followers for their support. They did not share a cause of death.
Several users shared their condolences in the comments section of Pantoja’s Instagram post, with one user writing, translated to English, “Nostalgia hurts more and more, I can’t even look in the mirror right because I look at my eyebrow and remember you because Saturday we were together in the Studio you doing my eyebrow and gossiping as we always did, talking about trips, futures, I really wanted to learn from you about aesthetics because that I graduated and really admired your work… but I learned one thing from you, I learned to be gentle, to be cheerful, to be determined.”

People reported that according to Pantoja’s sister-in-law, the Brazilian content creator recently underwent bariatric weight loss surgery. The sister-in-law alleged that Pantoja died in the hospital after becoming ill.
“She didn’t kill herself! She didn’t fall down the stairs! We still don’t know the cause, only after the autopsy!” the sister-in-law wrote of Pantoja, per People. “She was recovering from bariatric, she was very weak, got sick at dawn and ended up lifeless in the hospital. Please stop spreading lies!”
Pantoja rose to fame online for her beauty content, with her Instagram bio translating to, “I help you find your best version.” In May 2024, Pantoja opened up about her credentials.
