Truck driver Richard Satchwell is on trial for the murder of his wife
Richard Satchwell is accused of the murder of his wife Tina (inset)
Gardaí were challenged at the murder trial of Richard Satchwell (58) why an invasive search of his home for his missing wife Tina (45) was not conducted in June 2017 – with her body only discovered buried underneath a stairwell during a second Garda search over six years later.
The senior Garda appointed in 2021 to lead the investigation for missing Tina, Supt AnnMarie Twomey, confirmed to the Central Criminal Court trial that she came to the belief in February 2022 that Tina was no longer alive and that her husband, Richard, needed to be arrested and an intrusive search of the family home conducted to investigate her death.
