The senior Garda officer appointed in 2021 to lead the Tina Satchwell investigation confirmed to a murder trial that she came to the belief that Tina was no longer alive and that her husband, Richard, needed to be arrested and an intrusive search of the family home conducted to properly investigate her death.
Gardaí also confirmed to Mr Satchwell’s murder trial that, over the six-year missing person search, they had to eliminate a total of 65 different reported sightings of Tina (45) across Ireland and foreign countries.
