Jaden Smith Wows in Edgy Headpiece & Ozwald Boateng at Met Gala 2025

Jaden Smith joined a bevy of A-list celebrities and distinguished attendees for the 2025 Met Gala on Monday night in New York City. The artist and burgeoning style icon joined such stars as Colman Domingo, Rihanna, Serena Williams and more for the annual gala ahead of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s spring exhibition.

For the special occasion, Smith, the 26-year-old son of actors Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, opted for a custom look courtesy of Ozwald Boateng. The artist’s look consisted of an all-black three-piece suit, complete with tailored trousers, button-up collared shirt and tie.

Over his shoulders, Smith styled a cape in a black-and-white stripe and checkered pattern that added further definition and drama to his attire. The standout element of Smith’s look, however, was the abstract, experimental headpiece he wore.

Across his face and strewn through his locks, Smith wore a wiry headpiece that may have had significance and connection to the ink pen he was carrying as well. The effect gave off an extra dose of drama and obscurity to rather straightforward tailored attire.

To complete his look, Smith wore the New Balance 1906L Croc Patent Loafer in black. The choice gave Smith’s attire even more edge and a dash of modernity. Smith was named a New Balance ambassador in 2019.

At the 2024 Met Gala, Smith opted for another iteration on tailored styling. For “The Garden of Time” theme, Smith wore a custom Thom Browne coat in white denim, paired with a quilted white oxford shirt left unbuttoned to reveal his chest, accentuated with white and pink dahlias.

The 2025 Met Gala, held Monday at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, features the theme “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.” The event highlights Black dandyism and menswear, with a “Tailored for You” dress code. Cochairs include Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky, Pharrell Williams and Anna Wintour.
