The man convicted of killing Veronica Guerin has been given an independent living unit on the grounds of Shelton Abbey ahead of his full release, which is understood to be in the coming months.
Brian Meehan, aged in his late 50s, and from Crumlin, Dublin, who is serving life for the murder of Sunday Independent journalist Veronica Guerin in 1996, has been allowed out of the Co Wicklow open prison to attend training courses as well as for social meetings over the last several weeks.
