There is a direct link between anti- immigration protests and hate crimes, a senior garda has said.
Chief Superintendent Padraic Jones, who has responsibility for community engagement, said that after the November 2023 riots in Dublin, many foreign nationals would not leave their homes because they were so afraid of being abused or attacked.
