One person has been taken to hospital after sustaining ‘serious injuries’ following a fall at the Giant’s Causeway.
The Air Ambulance was deployed during the rescue after the patient fell on rocks in the area on Saturday.
Coleraine Coastguard, who assisted in the operation, said: “Yesterday, Coleraine and Ballycastle Coastguard Teams were tasked to assist Northern Ireland Ambulance Service and Northern Ireland Air Ambulance with the evacuation of an injured casualty at the Giants Causeway.
“The casualty had fallen on rocks, sustaining serious injuries.
“The casualty was stabilised by the medical personnel before extraction from the rocks. He was then transferred by air ambulance to hospital.”
