On Monday Jack O’Connor said “there’s a bit of life in the provincial championship yet”, and six days later his team went out and drove another nail into the coffin of the ailing Munster competition.
For context, the Kerry manager was speaking in reference to the semi-final against Cork that went to extra-time (and Meath’s semi-final win over Dublin), using those two games to suggest the Munster and Leinster championships are not the “dead ducks” everyone says they are – but this Munster final is more strong evidence for the prosecution who want to put the provincials behind bars.
