The bank holiday weekend will see cooler temperatures than recent days, though there will be plenty of sunshine and dry spells.
Saturday morning will start off dry and bright, though cloud will begin to spread from the north later, bringing some light rain or drizzle in northern counties.
Other areas will remain dry, with cloud breaking up later in the afternoon to bring more sunshine. Highest temperatures today will range from 14 to 17 degrees, with northerly breezes.
Tonight will remain dry with clear spells but there will be more cloud over northern counties and cooler overnight temperatures than recent days, with lows of 2 to 6 degrees.
Another “fine and dry day” is forecast by Met Éireann for Sunday with plenty of sunshine. There will be some cloud across Leinster and a brief spell of light remain, but it will remain dry elsewhere. Temperatures will be much cooler than the recent warm spell, with highs of 10 to 14 degrees.
While Sunday night will be cloudy, it will generally be dry with just a small change of the odd shower over Leinster. It will turn cold overnight with lowest temperatures of 2 to 5 degrees.
Another dry day is on the way for bank holiday Monday, with a mix of sunny spells and some scattered cloud. It will be cooler again, with highest temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees and a northerly breeze.
Monday night will see cloud break up, bringing clear spells across Leinster and Ulster. It will again be cold overnight with lows of 1 to 4 degrees.
Tuesday will be largely calm and dry, but will turn cloudy in the late afternoon and evening. Winds will be light, with highest temperatures of 12 to 15 degrees.
Conditions are expected to remain “calm and dry” into Wednesday, when it will be cloudy but temperatures will be around the mid-teens.
