A funny thing happened when Irish filmmaker Lorcan Finnegan handed an artificial rat to Nicolas Cage while shooting The Surfer.
The rat was supposed to feature in just two scenes, but Finnegan’s leading man wanted more, and the mischievous Californian, famous for taking things to the next level, started to think of ways he might expand the fake rodent’s role.
