While my mum assures me that I’ll be thankful for my rounded baby face the older I get, at 27, I’m always on the hunt for ways to make my face appear a little more naturally snatched and sculpted.
Especially now that my hayfever has me waking up even more puffy-faced most mornings.
So, I was really excited to discover that a sample of the iconic Dragon’s Blood Sculpting Gel by Rodial was included in April’s edition of my LookFantastic Beauty Box. Designed to plump, tone, and firm the skin, it’s a truly premium product that I probably wouldn’t have otherwise tried — especially as the full-size 50ml version retails at £92.
The size included in my beauty box was the 15ml ‘sample’ — but there was more than enough product inside to comfortably see me through two weeks of daily application. And I’ve already added the full-size version to my online basket.

Dragon’s Blood Sculpting Gel
This weightless gel has been meticulously formulated to hydrate, plump, and firm the complexion. A type of tree resin known for its anti-inflammatory properties, dragon’s blood soothes and hydrates the skin, while the actives Collageneer® and Volufiline™ work in tandem with the humectant glycerin to boost elasticity and firmness, and leave the skin looking far more toned and plump.

A really versatile product, you can use the gel in a range of different ways — but I opted to apply it after my moisturiser or SPF in the mornings, and before I started putting on any make-up. My skin looked instantly more hydrated and glowy, and the gel made a great non-greasy priming base for my BB cream or foundation.
But what I think I love most of all about it is how refreshed it leaves my face looking and feeling. From ice rollers to gua shas, I’m a big fan of any trusty tool that helps de-puff my face in the mornings — but most days, I don’t have time to factor a mini massage into my skincare routine.
Thankfully, this dragon’s blood formula has the de-puffing in hand, and my face appeared instantly more plump and lifted after just one application. And I’ve also been really struck by how much it’s helped create more definition around my jawline — while also smoothing out my under-eye area.
Essentially, after two weeks of consistent use, I’m sold. So, apologies in advance to my Monzo overdraft…
