A pedestrian, aged in her 80s, has died in a road collision involving a truck in Co Roscommon this afternoon.
The incident occurred in Frenchpark at the junction of the N5 and R361 at about 4:45pm today.
The woman was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Her body has since been removed to the mortuary at University Hospital Galway where a post-mortem examination will take place.
There were no other injuries reported.
A technical examination has since been conducted by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and the road has reopened to traffic.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to this incident to come forward.
Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 4:30pm and 5:00pm are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
