While Leinster’s front-line players had their feet up last weekend, watching their mostly second-string side lose only their second game of the season, Northampton’s big guns were pressed into action, as they warmed up for Saturday’s Champions Cup semi-final with an important win.
Northampton’s Premiership title defence has not gone well this year, as their lowly seventh place suggests, but Saints have at least given themselves a chance, albeit a slim one, of making the top four after their bonus-point victory over Bristol.
